Wells Counselling

I’m Jenny. Thank you for visiting my website.

Taking a step toward change—even a small or uncertain one—is a courageous act. Admitting that you’re not OK is OK. None of us are OK all the time, and most of us could use some help, support and encouragement along the way.

If you’re looking for professional support in a safe, compassionate environment, you’re in the right place. My role is to create a space where you can talk openly about your thoughts and feelings without judgement. We’re not limited to six sessions, so there’s no pressure to “fix” everything quickly. You can take the time you need.

You might be carrying something from your past that you’ve never spoken about. You may be facing a crisis point in your life. Or perhaps you feel stuck, low or disconnected and want to understand why—to regain a sense of purpose and direction.

Talking about emotions can be difficult, painful or overwhelming. I will offer a space where those feelings can be expressed safely. Together, we can explore tools and techniques to help you manage your mood, understand yourself more deeply and build a stronger sense of wellbeing.

Where I work

I work from a counselling room to the West of Witney. There is ample parking and the room is situated on the ground floor. I also work online. You can choose in-person sessions, online sessions, or a mixture of both.

Types of Sessions

Counselling

Counselling helps with shorter-term issues and usually lasts for between 3-12 sessions.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is usually longer-term with a focus on deeper emotional issues, recurring patterns, and past experiences that influence current behaviour.

Coaching

If you have a goal or aim in mind, coaching can help get you from where you are to where you want to be.

If you’re not sure what kind of session you need don’t worry! I can talk to you about this during our initial chat. Sometimes people come for counselling and deeper issues emerge, but sometimes people come with a specific issue that is resolved in just a few sessions. If you’re not sure, we’ll start with counselling.

FAQs

Who can have counselling?

Almost anyone! I am happy to consider anyone aged 18 or over if I have space. If your issues were very complex or you have a serious mental illness I would refer you on to someone with more specialist experience. Examples might be if you were experiencing psychosis, schizophrenia, or very complex trauma.

How do I get in touch with you?

You can email me at Jennywellscounselling@gmail.com.

Please provide contact details and availability and we can arrange an initial 15 minute chat.

You are welcome to email me with any questions if these are not answered in the FAQs

How often are sessions?

Sessions are weekly or fortnightly. If you wish to do fortnightly I would recommend starting with a few weekly sessions if possible.

How long are sessions?

A session is 60 minutes. Very occasionally I might suggest a 90 minute or two hour session to go deeper into things, but I would discuss this with you if it was relevant to you.

More FAQs XXX

How much does it cost?

A one hour session is £50.

How many sessions can I have?

You can have as many as you need; we are not limited to 6 sessions. I work ethically and with integrity, so I will not suggest further sessions for you if you don’t need them. We will have regular reviews to check-in that we’re working well and staying focussed.

Can I refer someone else?

I only take self-referrals directly. If you are a parent of a young person who is aged over 18, I can have an initial conversation with you as long as your young person gives their consent.

Do you offer couples therapy?

At the moment I don’t offer this type of therapy.

Ready to take the next step?

If you’d like to explore whether working together could support you on your journey, I offer a free, no‑obligation 15‑minute introductory conversation. This gives us both a chance to discuss what you’re looking for and whether my approach is the right fit for you.
I’d be glad to connect and talk further.
